Was on equal payment plan and switched to solar. They continued to charge me for the EPP even though clearly they came to switch the meter. The rep tells me there isn't anything she can do about me getting double charged. This is ridiculous. I enrolled to the EPP ONLINE and should have been able to cancel ONLINE. no one has time to be on hold for 2 hours because your prompts are messed up and you can't schedule a call back. Tried calling them multiple times. When I finally get someone on the phone she empathetically said there was nothing that could be done. Well I guess it's my problem right not yours.

We had a motorcycle/truck accident yesterday afternoon outside our development around 1:00pm. Major damage was done by the truck taking out 3 utility poles knocking out power. JCP&L responded immediately. They made sure the power lines were de-energized right away. Seeing the damage we thought we wouldn’t have power for days. Due to their quick response and hard work we had our power back by 9:00pm last night. Thank you to the crews for all your hard work! It was greatly appreciated!!

Been a customer for nearly 8 years, never missed a single payment. Just added service to a new home and was charged $166 for a "Security Deposit". What a great way to treat a loyal customer.

I have been on auto pay since 2022, I update my credit card whenever I get a new one...my newest credit card has been billed since Nov 2023, and then all of a sudden in May 2024, they start charging an old defunct card. It stops working, and they don't email or text me because for some reason it says I don't want emails or text msgs on my account settings (no idea why that would be!!). Then all of a sudden my power is off!

And now they tell me they had a glitch when switching to a new payments software in April/May, but it is still my responsibility to pay them $500 to turn it back on!?!

That is just theft.

Like most reviews and experiences, jcp&l is a disorganized mess of a company. Impotence runs rampant within management. It took exactly 12 months to set up power at our property from first contact to the day we actually got power. This caused serious delays, which in turn cost large amounts of money. It should be illegal to allow a company like this to be the only option. There was a complete disregard for our timeline and goals, especially from a very unqualified ‘project manager’ called Michael Gerrity. He blatantly lied about installation dates but it turns out, none of the backend work ever began. The dates he set and cancelled that same morning (approximately 3 months of weekly cancellations) were never truly scheduled. We needed easements from properties across the street. The actual plan he set fourth was incorrect and was only a guess. Eventually he caused a dispute due to his complete lack of competence. We will be filing complaints with the proper agencies and looking to have something done about this. Beware and be prepared to have a poor experience with this company.

JCP&L installed meter on house back March 2024 that was our last bill at the end of March. My wife called them several months following for a bill . They said they were having problems with new meter readings. Today in the mail we received 5 bills . One for $1.43 and fifth info $863.00 . No explanation why or options on paying . How do Companies get away with inadequate behavior.
Who protects the working class ? Not the politicians they work for big companies, not the people..

If a tree takes out the lines they show up quickly! However the AI inbound is awful. It does not allow you to call back with an outage update...like a tree down! Disconcerting in dangerous situations. It took several calls including one from a neighbor/different ID to report more info to the power co. The Answering system needs human intelligence! Besides tree issues I don't understand the montly/frequent Outages..in all weather and seasons, which remains out for hours. A real concern for people w medical issues dependent on power sources. Also a report was submitted..power pole is in bad shape leaning over road. A potential life and property damage threat. Let's see how long it takes. Grand liability in the making.

Omg beyond atrocious I can’t even believe they operate in the way they do. I closed on a property July 9 th 2024 and the new owners did not switch the gas and electric and when I noticed this and provided the appropriate closing documents and they still take the new owners falsified information. Will be pursing legal action with this horrible company.
